Police/Community Relations Meeting is August 28

The Mayor’s “Citizens’ Advisory Board on Police/Community Relations” meeting is Monday, August 28th, at the Pacific Beach Library from 6pm-7:30pm. It’s open to the public. Attendees can speak on issues such as how thefts, shortage of police officers, drug dealing/usage, recent attacks on women, aggressive transients, long dispatch wait times and long police response times are negatively impacting PB; and urge the City to hire more officers and make compensation programs more competitive. ¬†SDPD has many open positions because so many officers leave each year for better paying positions elsewhere.
