Bye-Bye, DecoBike!

Four PB DecoBike stations will be removed as part of a refocusing on increasing the use of bike sharing for transit connectivity and short trips, in support of the City’s climate action and mobility hub efforts.

Beach area DecoBike stations have been highly controversial because they compete with established local bike rental businesses.

Stations to be removed, beginning September 5, are:

  • 4500 Ocean Blvd. (Boardwalk)
  • 780 Thomas Ave. (Thomas & Mission)
  • 760 Grand Ave. (PB Lifeguard Station)
  • 760 Pacific Beach Drive (at Mission Blvd.)

15 total stations are being removed, including Mission Beach locations.
