Who is the Pacific Beach Town Council?
The volunteer-based non-profit 501(c)3 Organization was founded by community activists in 1951. The Town Councils™ membership of over 600 represents the close-knit, hard-working, hard-playing residents of Pacific Beach. The membership annually elects a Board of Directors who serve two-year terms, and officers who serve one year terms. The Board of Directors, Officers, and Members are governed by the Pacific Beach Town Council bylaws. Membership is open to everyone!
What does the Pacific Beach Town Council do?
The Pacific Beach Town Council is very involved with current issues that affect our community. We work closely with the San Diego City Council and the San Diego Police Department and other county, state and federal agencies to ensure we receive current information and that our members views are heard. The Pacific Beach Town Council takes an active role in promoting and sponsoring special events that are planned, arranged and executed by Pacific Beach Town Council members and directors. We also collaborate with other Pacific Beach organizations to promote our beachside community and businesses.

Pacific Beach Town Council Mission Statement
The purposes of this Association are to provide a forum for the discussion of community issues; to communicate the views of the community to the appropriate governmental agencies; and to take action on community issues, specifically, but not limited to: the general betterment and beautification of the community of Pacific Beach; the promotion of the welfare of the residents of the community; the fostering of the cooperative efforts among the business people and residents of the community for the mutual benefit; and the continued improvement of Mission Bay Park.
We hold a monthly meeting on the third Wednesday of the month at the Pacific Beach Woman’s Club at 1721 Hornblend Street (map) at 6:30pm. These general membership meetings are open to the public and feature guest speakers on timely topics. Many times these meetings become community forums that require a vote of the membership on current issues facing our community. Our positions are received and respected by elected officials, their representatives or other government staff who attend our meetings.
