Fire Station 21 Wish List

PB Town Council fundraising efforts are underway for Fire Station 21 in order to purchase equipment that will benefit the long-term health of our local firefighters.  Check out the Fire Station 21 Wish List!  It explains each item in detail and why it’s needed.

May 16th PBTC General Meeting

Q&A with the new SDPD Neighborhood Policing Division, which deals with quality of life community issues.  Pre-exisiting Homeless Outreach, Quality of Life, and Psychiatric Emergency Response teams now serve under one chain of command within the new Neighborhood Policing Division, which is split into two sections:  outreach and enforcement.

Captain Scott Wahl and Lt. Charles Lara will explain how this new team works and listen to concerns raised by our audience.  Lt. Waldheim from Northern Division, as well as Officer Hesselgesser, will also be there.  Wednesday, May 16th, 6:30pm, at Crown Point Elementary, 4033 Ingraham St

Hammond’s Ice Cream Donating 100% Sales

Hammond’s Ice Cream, 1418 Garnet Ave, has pledged to donate 100% of sales this weekend (May 5th – 6th) to our PBTC fundraising efforts for improvements to Fire Station 21 in PB.

Equipment such as giant extractor fan will remove carcinogenic substances from the air where firefighters work, and new high-end commercial washers & dryers will extract toxic materials from the gear they wear.

Hammond’s is open Sat, 12 – 11pm, and Sun, 12 – 9pm.

San Diego Donut Run

Gigi’s Playhouse is hosting the San Diego Donut Run on May 20th at Crown Point Park in Pacific Beach.  It will feature the 5K Fun Run and the 1-mile Donut Dash.  Register here.

Gigi’s Playhouse was created to change the way the world views a Down Syndrome diagnosis and send a global message of acceptance for all.

April 18th Candidate Forum

Join us for a Candidate Forum Meet ‘n Greet on Wednesday, April 18th, 6:30pm, at Crown Point Elementary, 4033 Ingraham St.  You’ll have a chance to hear from candidates in races for City Council District 2, County Supervisor District 4, and County Assessor/Recorder/Clerk.

We’ll also have updates from Police, Lifeguards, and government reps.

Mission Beach Park Public Workshop

Click here for project notification bulletin and details on public workshop to discuss proposed improvements to Mission Beach Pocket Park (818 Santa Barbara Place).  Meeting will be at PB Rec Center, 1405 Diamond St.  March 20th, 5:30pm.  Project Scope:  A public park (0.32 acres) is proposed to be designed and constructed along Mission Blvd between Santa Barbara Pl and Jersey Ct.

Graffiti Clean Up Day

Help remove hundreds of tags in Pacific Beach at our 10th annual Graffiti Clean Up Day, Saturday, April 28th, 9am – 12 noon.  Volunteers needed to help identify graffiti tags in PB ahead of event.  To report and help mapping process, contact:  GraffitiSurvey@roadrunner.com.

On event day, volunteers will meet at PB Presbyterian Church, 1675 Garnet Ave, to receive training and pick up supplies/cleaners.

Solving Neighborhood Problems

Check out the updated Neighborhood Problem Solver, which was updated in February 2018 by Suzanne Landa and Marcie Beckett, who are core members of SavePB along with Marcella Teran, Scott Chipman, and Monica Green.  They’re a group of residents who came together in 2005 to form SavePB, which promotes problem-solving, safety, awareness, respect, and enrichment in our community.

Gallery at Land’s End raises $1200 for Concert Series

Gallery At Land’s End has raised over $1200 for this year’s “Concerts on the Green,” a 4-part series hosted by PB Town Council in July/August at Kate Sessions Park.  They’re a custom framing and gift shop located at 4984 Cass St, (858) 270-7820.  They deserve a big THANK YOU for doing this on their own accord with % of sales!

PBTC General Meeting – Jan. 17th

Pacific Beach EcoDistrict

On Wednesday, January 17, 6:30pm, we will hold our “season-opener” General Meeting at the Crown Point Jr. Music Academy Auditorium.

Kristen Victor will offer presentation on the PB EcoDistrict, and the principles for advancing sustainability through community identity, health & well-being, habitat & ecosystem, access & mobility, appropriate development, energy, water, and materials management.

We will also have updates from Police, Lifeguards, and city officials.

Mission Bay Park Committee Tues, Dec. 5th

Mission Bay Park Committee meeting on De Anza Revitalization Plan options will be held this Tuesday, December 5th, 6pm at Mission Bay High School.  The Project Team will present the refined Draft Concept Alternatives for revitalizing De Anza Cove.  Presentation materials from the Ad-Hoc Committee Meeting #6 on June 29, 2017 can be reviewed here.

San Diego Audubon says the City’s plans won’t protect the future of Mission Bay’s wetlands and wildlife habitat.  Their ReWild perspective on these plans can be viewed here.  You can also view the Mission Bay Gateway Plan Diagram and Reasons for Support by Scott Chipman.
