P.A.E.S.A.N. 2015!!!

The 35th Annual Police and Emergency Services Appreciation Night (P.A.E.S.A.N.) takes place Wednesday, September 30 from 4:00 to 7:30 pm at the North Crown Point Shores Rotary Club Pavilion.  Join us for a barbeque dinner provided by OMBAC, Sprouts, Trader Joe’s, American Legion PB and the PB Town Council.

Greetings from Crown Point Junior Music Academy (CPJMA)!

On Thursday September 3rd 2015 from 3:30pm – 6:00pm, CPJMA will be hosting its yearly Back to School Resource Fair. Community partners and businesses are invited to share information with families about who they are, and what each organization has to offer. CPJMA is looking for business/organizations to set up a booth for this event! This will be a great opportunity to promote your company to 200+ families in the Pacific Beach/Mission Bay community. Below are the details for a booth.

Resource Fair Booth Information:

*   Your booth space is FREE, but you provide your own 10 x 10 canopy, tables, chairs
*   Load in time for your booths will begin at 2:00 pm.
*   You should staff your booth from 3:00pm to 6:00pm
*   You may use your booth to promote your organization, programs, upcoming events, or services. Providing a kid friendly game, activity, or raffle are always fun.
*   One week prior to the event, I will email you to confirm your attendance.

General Info:

CPJMA is a non-profit, public school, with San Diego Unified School District. Wine and Beer Fundraiser July 18th 2015

This is our single most important fundraiser to benefit the Pacific Beach community, and our local schools.  As you may know, we are a qualified 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit corporation dedicated to the betterment of Pacific Beach.  We host monthly community clean-ups and an annual graffiti removal day, support area beautification projects, provide scholarships and awards for local students, provide grants to local schools, support the Pacific Beach Recreation Center and Pacific Beach Library, help sponsor Concerts on the Green in Kate Sessions Park, and support a number of other important community events.  We are the primary organization within Pacific Beach that provides a monthly forum for local residents and business owners to discuss community issues with local elected officials/representatives and emergency services personnel.

To purchase tickets online, please visit our Events and Tickets page.  Tickets are issued on a will-call basis and will be waiting for you at the event.

The centerpiece of our fundraiser is the silent auction.  In order to help us with our silent auction, we are looking to local and regional businesses for tax-deductible contributions of items that are their specialty, such as gift certificates or merchandise.  We are happy to come by your business and pick up your donation.  If you’d prefer to make a monetary donation, please visit our Membership and Donation page.

Swell Café Beach Clean Up!!!

Swell Cafes very first beach cleanup went perfect! Thank you to all 20 volunteers who signed up to help make a difference in our beautiful city. We are also thankful for PBTC for supplying us with the supplies and pickers! You definitely don’t realize how affected we are from littering until you get involved with the community. We found all sorts of trash lingering on the beach and bay. It really makes you want to do more for our community and I hope for our next beach cleanup we get more people involved. Not only will you be making a great difference, but you will always feel better about yourself knowing that you made that difference happen!

North PB Spring Clean Up

On Saturday at 8am, over 40 residents and business owners met at Turquoise Coffee for the First Quarterly North PB Clean-Up. PB Town Council supplied everything we needed for a successful clean-up to include trash bags, picker uppers & gloves. In addition, Turquoise Cellars gave everybody a free coffee, juice or hot chocolate and the combined forces of Advent Real Estate & North PB gave away hats & reusable bags.

We split the the volunteers up into teams and had them start at Turquoise Coffee and head North & South on Cass Street going up and down the Alleys and side streets from Turquoise St to Diamond St. The outcome was around 30 bags of trash. Most of it being cigarette butts in the alleys and gutters. All in all, North PB was surprisingly clean.

We are very pleased with the turnout of our first North PB Clean-up. Pacific Beach Elementary was kind enough to send out a dedicated email to all of the parents. We also used Nextdoor.com & Advent Real Estate, North PB Life & North PB Sip N Stroll to get the word out on Social Media.

We plan on doing this quarterly in different areas of North PB. The next one will be in mid July and will tackle the Turquoise Business District. For all of the photos, visit: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.922247621131818.1073741831.793209527368962&type=3

It would be great if everybody could post this to their Social Media, Newsletters, etc. I am confident that within a year we can get over 100 volunteers and cover a much larger area of North PB.
