MISSION BAY PARK — San Diego Police Department Capt. Al Guaderrama experienced an annual Pacific Beach tradition for the first time Wednesday afternoon, and he came away more than impressed.
Guaderrama, in his first year as captain of the department’s Northern Division, was among about 150 people on hand for the 31st annual Police and Emergency Services Appreciation Night, an event that has been sponsored by the Pacific Beach Town Council since 1981.
“It’s actually overwhelming,” Guaderrama said. “What the community does and how it works with the police department, it’s unbelievable.” more »

Police Bicycle Resource Fundraising Program
This year we’re conducting a special fundraising program to support our Northern Division Police Department. Our goal is to buy police bicycle lights, sirens and back bag kits for nine bicycles they already own. This equipment costs about $600 per bike as police must use a certain level of approved equipment for their safety as well as ensure people they are contacting can easily identify them as peace officers.
Please consider making a donation from our Join/Give page or, by making a check out to the San Diego Police Foundation in care of The PAESAN Bicycle Program.

This is Pacific Beach Town Council’s 60th year in service to our community. We hope you’ll join us and celebrate all the good we have done as an organization and look forward to all the good we can do together.
This is an important time for the Town Council as we need to raise the funds needed to maintain our office and continue to serve the community through our many service committees and opportunities.
This event is particularly exciting because we have a large amount of items we will be offering in a Silent Auction. You’ll find things like massages, games, hotel stays, a wide variety of gifts and a plethora of items that we’ve grouped together. Your donations will benefit our local schools & community throughout the year. Not only can you find a lot of great things, have a great time celebrating with the community, you’ll also be contributing to an organization that has a rich history of serving Pacific Beach.
