Your Input on New Trolley Stops Needed by March 20

SANDAG is seeking your input: What services and amenities do you think are most important to include in mobility hubs at each new Mid-Coast Trolley station?

This Mid-Coast Trolley will extend trolley service from Old Town to Westfield UTC. One of the new stations will serve PB and be located on Balboa Avenue at I-5.

Mobility hubs feature a range of transportation services and amenities that better connect transit to where people live, work, and play. They are places where different travel options — walking, biking, ridesharing, and transit — come together seamlessly. Supporting technologies like real-time travel information, electric vehicle charging stations, and improved trip planning and payment options offer added convenience for users.

Please provide your input and take the survey now.

Clean & Safe Program Debuts in Pacific Beach

The PB Business District is implementing a Clean & Safe program covering areas including the boardwalk near Crystal Pier, Garnet to Ingraham, and parts of Felspar and Hornblend.

The Clean & Safe program is made up of a Maintenance Team and Safety Ambassadors.

The Safety Ambassadors, who work for a security company, will serve to complement the San Diego Police Department. They will help visitors with information and provide social outreach referrals for homeless. A program of this kind is already being used in Downtown San Diego.

The non-profit Pacific Beach Street Guardians will be maintaining the streets, sidewalks and alleys in the business district. The Street Guardians are made up of homeless men and women who have been thoroughly screened, and want to work to better their situation.

Watch a KUSI report on the announcement of this program.

Get more info on the Street Guardians, who are also available to work for businesses and residents.
