Oct. 18 Meeting: Homelessness Task Force CEO

Gordon Walker, the new CEO of San Diego’s Regional Task Force on Homelessness, will be the featured speaker at PBTC’s October monthly meeting.

As always, the meeting will also feature updates from city officials, police, lifeguards and community organizations.

PBTC Meeting, Wed, Sept. 20th

City Attorney Mara Elliot will be there.

We’ll discuss Councilmember Barbara Bry’s proposed regulations with Comm Director, Hilary Nemchik.

Denise Friedman with updated Crown Point STVR data.

Join us on Wednesday, Sept. 20th, 6:30pm @ Crown Point Music Academy, 4033 Ingraham St.  Parking lot on Jewell St and PB Drive will fill up quickly.  Allow time to find street parking, or walk/ride bike.  STVR portion will be first.

Get the Bike Bait Update (And More!) in July

The July monthly meeting of the PBTC will include an update on what police are doing to catch bike thieves.

Here’s a preview:  Since the Bike Bait program was launched, there have been 109 arrests, with 104 successful prosecutions concluded and 5 still pending. If you’d like to hear how they’re so succesful, make sure to attend the meeting!

As always, the July meeting will also include the opportunity to ask questions of police, fire, lifeguard and city government representatives.

Police Chief Educates PBTC About New Drug Testing

Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman gave attendees at the May PBTC meeting a firsthand look at the Drager Drug Test 5000 (pictured), a portable mouth-swab device that provides a new way to confirm the presence of seven drugs including marijuana, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, and more.

Concerns about impaired driving have increased since the passing of November’s Proposition 64, or the Adult Use of Marijuana Act, which legalized certain aspects of marijuana usage.  For a TV news report on Chief Zimmerman’s presentation, please click here.

June 21st: Short-Term Vacation Rental Update

PBTC’s June monthly meeting will feature an update from Save San Diego Neighborhoods on the latest developments at City Hall on short-term vacation rentals, and how you can make a difference.

The meeting takes place on Wednesday, June 21 at 6:30 pm at Crown Point Jr. Music Academy.  As at every monthly meeting, representatives from Police, Fire, Lifeguards, elected officials and community organization will be available for questions.
