Annual Harvest Wine Tasting is Nov. 12

Pacific Beach Community Foundation is hosting their annual Harvest Wine Tasting at the Broken Yolk on November 12 at 4:30 pm.  There will be more than 40 wines for tasting and auction along with a silent auction and of course, hors d’oeuvres. Call 858-270-2468 for more information and tickets. Tickets are $30 pre-sale and $50 at the door.

November Meeting: Pipeline & Bees

beesNikolas Kennedy from CityWorks will speak about the PB pipeline replacement project, and Mission Bay High School student Martina Pulido will talk about her project to save the bees in PB, at the November meeting of the PBTC.

The meeting starts at 6:30pm on Wednesday, November 16, at the Crown Point Jr Music Academy.

MB Women Support Police And More

Todd Gloria To Speak At September Meeting

Councilmember Todd Gloria will address the PBTC membership at its September monthly meeting, to discuss his goals for addressing the concerns of San Diegans.

There will also be a report and discussion on Ballot Measure J, which affects the DeAnza Cove Revitalization Project, the Mission Day Park Master Plan, tidelands maintenance and the Mission Bay Park Improvement Fund.  Educate yourself on this important measure, which will be on the November ballot.

The meeting takes place at 6:30 on September 21st at the Crown Point Junior Music Academy.

Support Our Emergency Services Personnel With a P.A.E.S.A.N Donation

yamaha-vikingPacific Beach could not operate without our Emergency Services personnel – join us in saying “Thanks!” at the community picnic on Sept. 28th. For this event we honor our first responders.

This year, we are raising funds to purchase a replacement Yamaha Viking at a cost of $14,000 for the San Diego Police Beach Team. Update: As of August 30, we have raised $9,000 and $5,000 more is needed. Please consider donating to this cause and plan to attend the community picnic.

All of our donors will receive a listing in all print media and on our website, signage at the event, and tickets to the event, based on contribution level.

Atkins, Peters To Speak at July Meeting

At the July PBTC monthly meeting, Assembly Speaker Emeritus Toni Atkins will give a legislative update on what’s happening in Sacramento. Also, Congressman Scott Peters will be discussing his work in Congress to help San Diegans.

Alcohol & Crime Are Focus of June Meeting

PBTC’s June monthly meeting will address finding solutions to alcohol and crime problems in Pacific Beach. Speakers include Eric Collins, Director – Alcohol Policy Panel of San Diego County, and Rob Hall, Media Specialist for San Diego Advocates for Youth.

The meeting takes place Wednesday, June 15 at 6:30 pm a the Crown Point Jr. Music Academy on Ingraham Street.

Get Involved With ReWild Mission Bay

logo-rewildReWild Mission Bay is a project of San Diego Audubon and its partners to enhance and restore up to 170 acres of wetlands in the northeast corner of Mission Bay and expand opportunities for community access, creating space for wildlife to thrive and San Diegans to enjoy nature in their own backyard. The purpose of the four planned stakeholder meetings is to give community members an opportunity to learn more about the project and share thoughts on restoration plans.

Public Workshop #2 will take place on June 14 from 4-7 pm in the Mission Bay High School Cafeteria. For more information, visit the organization’s website.

May Meeting to Focus on Short Term Vacation Rentals

PBTC’s May monthly meeting will feature a presentation by the group Save San Diego Neighborhoods:  “Zoning 101:  Why Short Term Vacation Rentals are Unlawful in Your Neighborhood.

The meeting will take place at 6:30 pm on May 18th at Crown Point Jr. Music Academy.
