PBTC Wine Tasting at Firehouse

PBTC is hosting our annual Wine Tasting on the upstairs level of Firehouse American Eatery & Lounge on Saturday, October 13, 3pm.  Our guests will enjoy a social atmosphere with ocean view while tasting a variety of wines and appetizers.  Everyone will have the chance to benefit worthy causes in PB by bidding on amazing items for a fraction of the price on our auction tables.  Auction items include SeaWorld tickets, Tower 23 hotel stay, tour of SDPD Headquarters, gift cards to local restaurants and businesses such as The French Gourmet, Cafe Athena, The Local, The Fabulous Rag, Maverick’s Beach Club, and many more!  Also live showtunes from Sinatra Dom!


All proceeds benefit worthy PBTC projects such as local student community service award scholarships, neighborhood cleanups, graffiti removal, supporting Concerts on the Green, fundraising for our local first responders, and monthly community forums on important local issues.  This event supports the PB Town Council and what we’re able to do throughout the year!

PBTC General Meeting, Sept. 19

Councilmember Chris Ward will explain his proposed ordinance that would restrict the sale of styrofoam products and limit disposable straws in restaurants to upon request only.  It was passed by the Council Rules Committee and will likely be heard by the full Council sometime in the Fall.  There will be Q&A with Councilmember Ward and other government reps as well as local Police, Fire, and Lifeguards.

You can purchase $5.00 tickets in person to our PAESAN community picnic, Sept. 26, 4pm, at Crown Point Shores Rotary Pavilion.

You will also be able to purchase tickets ($25 each) here in person to our October 13th Winetasting Event, 3pm, on upstairs level of Firehouse American Eatery & Lounge, where guests will enjoy a social atmosphere with ocean views, wine tasting, appetizers, and plenty of fantastic auction items to bid on at a fraction of retail price!

City Council STVR 2nd Vote – August 1st

Our City Council will have a “second reading” of the new rules adopted on July 16th for short-term vacation rentals, which include the primary residence only provision.  The STVR industry will be at the meeting in an attempt to reverse STVR restrictions.  Residents are urged to voice their opinions during public comment in order to protect our neighborhoods.

STVR Press Conference Friday

A joint press conference with Council President Pro Tem Barbara Bry and Councilmember Lorie Zapf will take place Friday, July 13th, 11:45am, at 3515 Jewell St.  They will be highlighting the need for a short-term vacation rental ordinance that preserves our housing stock rather than depleting it.

PBTC Opposes Mayor’s STVR Proposal

The PB Town Council Board of Directors voted unanimously to oppose the Mayor’s STVR proposal at our July 11th Board meeting.  The proliferation of commercial hotel uses in our residential zones continues to reduce our available housing units for long-term renters and potential homeowners.  The Mayor’s proposal, which will come before San Diego City Council on July 16th, would open the flood gates to accelerated depletion of our housing stock if passed.  The City Council meeting begins at noon on Monday, July 16th, in Council Chambers, 12th floor, City Administration Building, 202 C St.  Everyone is encouraged to share any opinion you may have during public comment regarding this matter.  Reference:  Proposed Framework Fact Sheet, Proposed Regulations in Detail, July 16th City Council Agenda.  If you’d like to share your opinion with all 9 Councilmembers, here is their contact info.

Firefighter Fit Workout

You can join the Firefighter Fit Workout with Station 21 by participating in an obstacle course and/or 3-mile jog on the beach with firefighters for $25/person.  All proceeds go toward our PBTC fundraising goals for Fire Station 21 improvements such as commercial washers & dryers and giant extractor fans for the main bay.  Next dates:  TBD.

Mayor’s STVR Proposal – July 16th

Mayor Faulconer released a framework to amend the San Diego municipal code for short-term vacation rental legalization that is slated to come before City Council on July 16th.  This proposal, if passed, would amend our zoning laws to allow mini-hotels in our residential zones.  To express your opinion to the councilmembers who will be voting on this proposal, here is their contact information.

Graffiti Strike Force!  Detective Scott Holden, from Central Division, will bring us the latest on local taggers, and how we can prevent, remove, and properly report graffiti.  He’ll also share how the Graffiti Tracker System works.
