Decobike Stations in Pacific Beach.

The Pacific Beach Town Council, DiscoverPB and The Pacific Beach Planning Group began community meetings with Decobike over a year ago as a directive from the City of San Diego.

Decobike proposed a number of stations that removed street parking and stations directly in front or near local bike shops.   We were able to relocate some stations and also proposed other workable locations.

In early June Decobike had another meeting to propose  three additional 6 foot by 40 foot stations directly on the Boardwalk.  Station92A

All community groups were opposed to these locations.  We need the community to help oppose placing commercial bikes stations on our boardwalk. The coummunity should also support our local bike shops.

Please contact Lori Zapf  and Tom Landry who is heading up this program for the City of San Diego to voice your concerns about putting Neighborhoods First.

Pacific Beach Town Council 34th annual Police and Emergency Services Appreciation Night (P.A.S.E.A.N.) held on September 17th at Crown Point was a huge success. Present at the event were Mayor Kevin Falkner, along with many other government representatives and agencies honoring our safety service personal. Individuals from each of the different departments, Police, Fire, Lifeguard, and Park Rangers were presented with awards for their outstanding service during the year. The many sponsors who contributed funding and donations deserve a special thank you for helping our Lifeguards meet some of their needs that budgetary constraints have hindered. The Catamaran Hotel and Spa along with Councilman for district 2 helped with the monetary contributions. Sprouts, OMBAC, Pacific Beach Women’s Club, Discover P.B. Local business and other community groups donated services and goods for the event and picnic dinner. A big thank you to all involved for supporting our community.
