Valentine’s Day Art Auction Benefits Helen Woodward

Mission Bay High School will hold an auction of art from students and local artists, with 100% of proceeds going to the Helen Woodward Animal Center.  The event includes live music and will take place from 5-8pm.

Lord of the Wings: A Fun Charity Event

Discover PB’s Clean & Safe Program hires homeless individuals to clean and maintain the streets and sidewalks Pacific Beach’s business districut, and also funds security personnel that patrol and handle aggressive individuals and criminal activity.

Clean & Safe benefits our community, and needs your support to continue! Join their chicken wing cook-off competition on November 14th from 5-9pm at the Karl Strauss Tasting Room to crown the Lord of the Wings – the restaurant that makes the best wings! Oct. 18 Meeting: Homelessness Task Force CEO

Gordon Walker, the new CEO of San Diego’s Regional Task Force on Homelessness, will be the featured speaker at PBTC’s October monthly meeting.

As always, the meeting will also feature updates from city officials, police, lifeguards and community organizations.

Bye-Bye, DecoBike!

Four PB DecoBike stations will be removed as part of a refocusing on increasing the use of bike sharing for transit connectivity and short trips, in support of the City’s climate action and mobility hub efforts.

Beach area DecoBike stations have been highly controversial because they compete with established local bike rental businesses.

Stations to be removed, beginning September 5, are:

  • 4500 Ocean Blvd. (Boardwalk)
  • 780 Thomas Ave. (Thomas & Mission)
  • 760 Grand Ave. (PB Lifeguard Station)
  • 760 Pacific Beach Drive (at Mission Blvd.)

15 total stations are being removed, including Mission Beach locations.
