South Mission Beach Lifeguard Station Open House, May 24

We’re all invited to the Open House this Friday, May 24, 11am-3pm, at the new main lifeguard station in South Mission Beach. The new South Mission Beach tower stands 200 yards north of the north channel jetty inlet to Mission Bay, providing a sweeping visual for water observation. The tower also accommodates the South Mission Lifeguard staff and rescue apparatus for beach operations. Come enjoy a tower tour and meet the Lifeguards. Location: 700 North Jetty Rd, San Diego, CA 92109. Ample parking in adjacent lot.

Vehicle Habitation Once Again Illegal

Tireless advocacy by the PB Town Council and other organizations resulted in a City Council vote on May 14 to once again prohibit living in vehicles. Passed an an emergency ordinance, it went into effect immediately. Click below for the news report.

Gloria, Campbell at May 15 Meeting

State Assembly Member Todd Gloria will attend PBTC’s May monthly general meeting with a legislative update for District 78, and answer any questions. District 2 Councilmember Campbell will also join us for Q&A on the latest from our City Council office. We’ll also have an update with Kristen Victor on the latest from the Mission Bay advocacy effort led by C3 with San Diego Audubon and UCSD Natural Reserve System. They’ll provide us with outcomes and feedback gathered from their latest workshops regarding the northeast corner of Mission Bay and its connections.
